Self-Portrait Car

This was my first assignment in my Color Studio and Location class (a digital photography class all about lighting and setup). Our first assignment was: Self Portrait without putting yourself directly in the photo.

SO, I had two ideas: 1) do a charcoal selfportrait and take a picture of it and tell them "This is me" OR 2) Take a picture of my car who's personality is entirely me and it is the one place I spend the most time in to get to the places I need to be so I can be the person that I am. In this assignment we were also required to use reflectors.. so I used foamcore board on the headlights to get the glare of the sun off.

Of course I went with the easier and lamer idea which was the car and of course my teacher thought it was the worst idea ever and told me he was more interesting in the background trees and the bike in the image than in the car itself. Which I kind of purposefully left as is because of color complementaryness and also because it made the image seem more real.
